It hurt my knees badly and just beat me up.

Fortunately for me, I discovered the answer to designing a walk/run program that suits ALL FITNESS LEVELS and produces winning results time and time again.
So, back to my original thought…
A lot of my boot campers wanted to take their results to the next level. After all, summer was right around the corner…
That got me thinking, and the result was the 1st Annual Walk-Run Club.
I tweaked my proven cardio training program to work in a group environment and worked with 35 “rock star” members. The results were amazing!

Can I share my own personal story with you?
As a kid I was an avid B.M.X. rider. I started when I was only 4 years old. I just loved ripping it up on my bike, and getting big air was just the greatest feeling ever. But, before I go off on an unnecessary tangent (I could relive those memories all day) let me get to the point.
Because I rode so much and started at such a young age, I NEVER ran, much less walked anywhere. As a result, I never developed the muscular and connective tissue strength and endurance necessary for running.
If you happened to be sedentary as a kid or maybe just for the last several years or decades you can relate – running just seems out of the question because of the pain it causes.
Well, as a personal trainer later in life it was pretty embarrassing that I couldn’t even run a mile – no kidding.
And, guess what, I never really encouraged my clients to run. We’d use the bike, StairMaster and elliptical because they were “better for your knees.”
Then came my first client who wanted to run… my good friend Julie. She wanted to run a race – the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure 5k.
Truth be told, I was really excited that Julie got locked in on a goal like running her first 5K, but at the same time I was scared because running was not my area of expertise.
It turns out, that this was one of the best challenges I could have faced with a client. It forced me to do my homework, and what I discovered was eye-opening – MOST PEOPLE DO IT ALL WRONG.
Well, to make a long story short, I developed a walk/run program that works – EVERY TIME WITH EVERY CLIENT.
AND, as for as my results, I literally went from walk/run intervals where I was “running” on a treadmill at 4.5 mph for a couple minutes at a time to running at 6.0+ mph for over an hour straight. Today, I have no problem going for 5k, 10k or even a 10 mile run outside.
Since working with Julie and myself, I’ve helped thousands of busy men and women all over the country achieve their goals through my various programs. I’ve had the pleasure of teaching these folks how their bodies work, how to fire up their metabolism and how to achieve the long lasting weight loss and fitness results they so desperately desired.
